Independent Sector Announces the Janine Lee Mentorship Award

Independent Sector is proud to announce the Janine Lee Mentorship Award, a new annual award that honors the life and legacy of Janine Lee (1960–2024), a respected leader, mentor, and supporter of rising talent in the nonprofit sector.

Before her passing in February 2024, Janine was the president and CEO of Philanthropy Southeast, an Independent Sector member. She was a trusted advisor, colleague, and friend. Over her 30+ year career, Janine was known for her wisdom, compassion, and dedication to helping future leaders grow.

We invite you to nominate a mentor who reflects Janine’s values and commitment to others. The first Janine Lee Mentorship Award will be given at Independent Sector’s National Summit 2025 on October 29 in Atlanta.
